Hello Kitty cake

I'd never done a Hello Kitty cake before so I was really pleased to be asked to make this one for Sian's 6th birthday.

Garden party cupcakes

Enid has just turned 80 and her family celebrated with a lovely garden party in the sunshine. Cupcakes were really fitting for the occasion and a giant cupcake was just the answer for something to pop a candle in and cut!

Waybuloo cake

It was my Niece Lacey's first birthday and I had great fun making this colourful creation for her party.

50th birthday cupcakes

A box of cupcakes to help with the 50th birthday celebrations? Sounds good to me!

Silent Edge 9th birthday cake

Silent Edge turned 9 this year and I made this one to help with the celebrations

Cake pops

Cake pops are a great way of using up left over sponge when you've had to carve a cake into shape. I'm not sure if I was more pleased with my DIY efforts in making the stand though!

Beach 40th cake

I was asked to do a 40th cake for Lou who had celebrated her birthday with a trip to the Maldives. I enjoyed coming up with a way to do the sand on this one - coloured sugar seemed to do the trick!

Temple Island wedding cake

Chelsea had chosen the beautiful Temple Island in Henley for her wedding earlier this month. She wanted something a bit different for her cake so settled on the Temple being the top tier. The addition of the lavender, which can be found all over the island, just lifted the other tiers.

Mystery Machine cake

Leonie's favourite TV show is Scooby Doo which meant that the Mystery Machine was a great choice for her 6th birthday cake.

Superhero cupcakes

Bodhi loves his superhero's so for his 5th birthday I created a selection of cupcakes - Superman, Spiderman, Batman and Ben 10.

Black & pink cupcakes

There's something stylish, yet pretty about these black and pink cupcakes. They were for Hannah's birthday and I hear they hit the spot!

50th Birthday cake

I had fun making this one for Sue. She's into her gadgets so there's her iPhone & her e-book reader. You've got to enjoy a glass of wine on your birthday too!

DIY cake

Keith celebrated his 70th with his family over the Easter weekend and I created this cake for the party. It was great to be able to get the personal touch in this one with the jobs list!

Yet another In the Night Garden cake!

Clearly this is a favourite with the little 'uns at the moment! Another In The Night Garden cake, this time for little Eva who recently turned 2.

Horse racing cake

The recipient of this one loves the 'gee gees' so it was good to make him a horse racing themed cake for his 60th birthday

Good luck cupcakes

I had free reign over what to do for these cupcakes for someone that was moving to pastures new in her job. I liked this colour scheme and mixing up the words and the birds.

18th Birthday cake

Pretty pinks and browns make up this 18th cake for Paige. For a while I wasn't sure how it was all going to tie together, but I was really pleased with how it turned out.

A leafy wedding cake...

I was given a 'sketch' of a design for this one by the groom and I knew not to stray too far from that! I'd estimate there are about 550-600 leaves on this, thankfully not the 2000 predicted by my husband! A beautiful design for a lovely couple - thanks Mr & Mrs O'Brien!

Cupcake tower

This cupcake tower was made of various pastel shades in fondant and swirls with butterflies & flowers. It was for a wedding at Buxted Park Hotel - delivering there was like de-ja-vous after our wedding there last year!

Swimming pool cake

Olivia turned 11 last week and had a pool party with her friends to celebrate. I put this cake together for them all to munch on when they'd finished swimming.

Red Nose Day 2011

We were doing our bit t raise some money for Comic Relief in the office so I made these to help encourage some donations at the buffet table

Naming Day Teddy Bear

Technically this is actually two cakes in one. Phoebe was celebrating her Naming Day and 1st Birthday together so whilst the side you see in this picture reads 'naming day', the opposite side with the other teddy bear reads '1st birthday'.

Golf cake

It seemed a little unfair that I had never made my husband a birthday cake so I stepped up for his 30th this week.

Pretty in pastles

More pretty birthday cupcakes in pastles...

Veggie patch

I was asked to make a carrot cake more interesting. I took inspiration for this one from the 'Hello Cupcake' book where they do something similar with cupcakes in rows... I love that it's still cream cheese frosting, just as it should be for carrot cake!

Pink & white cupcakes

I was asked to make these for the Christening of a little girl called Cate. My only brief was 'Pink, white and pretty' so I kept it simple and I think they turned out quite effective...

West Ham 40th cake

A 40th birthday cake for a Hammer's fan!

60th birthday prettiness

These pretty cupcakes were for a 60th birthday party. My brief was 'pastels, sparkle, butterflies, flowers and 60'. Hopefully these did the job!

Buttons & birds

I had some ideas for some new designs of cupcakes so set to work when I was able to make them for a friends birthday.

Butterflies & flowers

The combination of butterflies, roses and blossoms make these cupcakes beautiful in the pastel colours. I love making pretty ones!

Cornish pasties

For some savoury snacks I made up some traditional Cornish pasties. I added some more veggies in so they ended up with beef, onion, swede, potato, peas and carrots in. The pastry was lovely, flakey and melt in the mouth.

Chocolate & marshmallow muffins

Chocolate muffins with chocolate chips and marshmallows, making the centre lovely and gooey.

Blueberry muffins

With a crunchy sugary topping these are a great treat for breakfast

Pink and chocolate cupcakes

Coloured sponge is the way forward!

Rose cupcakes

It's been a while since I decorated some 'grown up' cupcakes but I think these do the job. I always love the combination of sage green, pale pink and ivory.

Chocolate floral cupcakes

I didn't want my latest batch of double chocolate cupcakes to look too dreary so I sprused them up with these pink and ivory flowers.

Pink & purple cupcakes

I thought it was about time I made some pretty cupcakes. I love these coloured cases so I went for something in keeping with the decoration.

Giant cupcake

My brother bought me one of the giant cupcake tins for Christmas so I had to try it out. (There's also the new cake slice in this pic that I got as a Christmas gift from friends that clearly know m well!)

Scuba diving cake

My Dad turned 60 last week so I made this one for him.

Another In the Night Garden cake

I was asked to do another In the Night Garden birthday cake, but this time for a little girl. It's still bright and colourful, but a bit with a few more pastel shades and I went for the bandstand as a feature.

Minnie Mouse cake

Also celebrating their first birthday this week were my friends twin girls. They (& their mum) love Minnie Mouse so I set to work on making them something suitable. Hopefully this did the trick!

Christmas cake

I thought I'd do something a bit different for the family christmas cake this year. I went for this snow covered house with Santa Claus stuck in the chimney.

In the Night Garden Cake

A friends little boy turned 1 this week so it seemed fitting that Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy, Makka Pakka and the Ninky Nonk helped him celebrate.

Jam tarts

What better way to use up some leftover pastry than jam tarts. They're so simple and it would be a shame to let the pastry go to waste. These have some of my homemade blackberry jam in them.
